Fourth newsletter: Summer greetings from the GLIDE-19 project

Pilot testing still open!

We hope you are enjoying the Summer. We are slowly approaching the end of the project and are still looking for volunteers who are interested in testing out our training platform.  Would you like to try out the online course and are you working as a healthcare professional, or future professional? If interested, please register soon as the pilot testing is only possible until end of September.  The course can be followed in five languages: English, German, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.

Getting started is simple: you only need to create a (free) account and thereafter you can immediately start the course. Before starting the course, we ask you to fill out a short questionnaire. Please visit: https://www.glide19.eu/onlinecourse/

GMA conference August 2024

Our GLIDE-colleagues Ali and Niels were present during the GMA conference, held in

Freibourg (Switserland). This conference was held both online and face-to-face. The GMA, or Gesellschaft für Medizinsche Ausbildung, focuses on medical education and training. The perfect place to present our GLIDE-19 project.

On August 6th, Niels presented the GLIDE-19 project during an online session by focusing on the focus group interviews that were held during spring 2023. Niels talked about the results and how these fit in the bigger GLIDE-19 framework, in other words: what did we do with these results? The presentation was positively received, and some questions were asked by the audience.

On August 8th, Ali presented the overall project aims and deliverables (see picture below) as well as the evaluation results from the Train-the-Trainer Workshop that took place in Heidelberg in April. There were around 30 participants inside the auditorium. After the presentation there was a Q&A with the audience. Two questions were raised:

What do we mean by co-validation of course content with the participants during the development stage? and How was the train-the-trainer workshop on communication skills helpful for the participants within the context of the course? After the session, some people from the audience also came by to chat about the topic and how it was still useful to learn for future pandemics.
